IndyStar Mr. Basketball is a three-man race; Who will win?

Two of the top candidates for IndyStar Indiana Mr. Basketball are still playing, while another has played his final high school game.

James Blackmon Jr., an Indiana recruit, saw his career end with a 74-69 loss to Kokomo in the sectional semifinals last week. Blackmon, who averaged 33.4 points this season and shot 47 percent from the 3-point line (88-for-186), finished his career with 2,387 points to rank ninth on the all-time state scoring list.

Tech's Trey Lyles, a 6-10 Kentucky recruit, will lead the second-ranked Titans (23-2) into a Class 4A regional game against Richmond on Saturday at Southport. Lyles is averaging 24.3 points, 13.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 blocked shots per game. He has 1,808 points, which ranks 112th on the all-time list, and is the state's eighth all-time leading rebounder.

Park Tudor's Trevon Bluiett leads the Class 2A top-ranked Panthers (20-4) into a regional semifinal game on Saturday at Connersville. Bluiett is averaging 35.7 points, 11.5 rebounds and shooting 74-for-180 (41.1 percent) from the 3-point line and 57 percent overall from the field. He ranks seventh on the all-time scoring list with 2,424 career points, five points ahead of 1991 Brebeuf Jesuit grad Alan Henderson as the top scorer in Marion County history.
