Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri (4) kicks a 53-yard field goal to set a new franchise scoring record during first half action of an NFL football game at Lucas Oil Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015.

4:34 p.m.: Adam Vinatieri nails the 27-yard field goal and the Colts win it in overtime. FINAL: COLTS 16, JAGUARS 13.

Box Score

Chuck Pagano's postgame locker room speech:

Pagano Victory Speech: Week 4 Jaguars vs. Colts

4:32 p.m.: Frank Gore breaks a 23-yard run to take the ball down inside the 10. Gore had 31 rushing yards all day before that play.

4:29 p.m.: Jason Myers misses again, this time from 48 yards. Colts have life.

4:26 p.m.: T.J. Yeldon moves the pile into field goal range, and Blake Bortles follows with a run of his own for another first down. Jaguars well within field goal range and looking for more.

4:23 p.m.: Jaguars start at their own 39 after Colts are forced to punt. We're in sudden death mode now.

4:20 p.m.: Safety Mike Adams with a huge play to knock away a Bortles pass that would have resulted in a first down inside the Colts' 40. Jags punt, Colts ball at their own 16.

4:18 p.m.: Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon breaks a big one, 36-yard run takes Jacksonville to the Colts' 44.

4:14 p.m.: Jacksonville wins the day's second coin toss, and this time will receive.

4:12 p.m.: Myers misses the secon attempt wide right, and we're headed to overtime. Colts 13, Jaguars 13. Overtime.

4:10 p.m.: Jason Myers misses a 53-yard field goal, but the Colts had called timeout just before the snap. Six seconds left.

4:08 p.m.: Bortles connects with Marcedes Lewis to put Jaguars in field goal range with 10 seconds left. 1st down, timeout Colts.

4:04 p.m: Another fantastic punt by Pat McAfee, and the Jaguars have the ball at their own 26 yard line with 45 seconds left in regulation.

4:01 p.m.: Jaguars punt, Colts will start at the 15 yard line with 1:48 to go. Does Hasselbeck lead this team to a win in the last 2 minutes?

3:56 p.m.: Big play on 3rd and 11 for the Jags -- Bortles throws incomplete, but pass interference on Vontae Davis gives Jacksonville 29 yards. Clock is ticking down. Under 3 minutes to go.

3:53 p.m.: You just knew this one was coming when the CBS telecast checked in on Andrew Luck on the sideline:

3:50 p.m.: Fair catch at the Colts 10, and Matt Hasselbeck will start from there, 5:16 to go in this one.

3:47 p.m.: Robert Mathis breaks through and pressures Borltes into a throw-away, again proving he's the only real pass-rush threat on this Colts defense right now. Jags punt.

3:40 p.m.: Frank Gore loses the football on a carry near the goal line, and the Jaguars pick it up in the end zone for a touchback. That's Gore's second fumble this season inside the 5.

3:37 p.m.: Hasselbeck looking sharp on this drive, now 3-for-4 before handing to Dorsett, who gets hit late and draws an unnecessary roughness penalty. Colts in business inside the red zone.

3:35 p.m.: Two nice gains for the Colts to start this drive, one on an encouraging run by Frank Gore and the other an 11-yard completion to T.Y. Hilton.

3:33 p.m.: Jaguars trying to gift-wrap this one for the Colts, as a great one-handed catch is negated by yet another Jacksonville penalty and leads to a punt. Hasselbeck back out there as Indianapolis starts at its own 33. Jaguars now have 11 penalties for 77 yards.

3:26 p.m.: Adam Vinatieri puts his career point total as a Colt over 1,000 (1,001) with a 32-yard field goal to tie this one up. Colts 13, Jaguars 13. 12:28 4th quarter.

3:21 p.m.: Hasselbeck with time and he completes a 17-yard pass to T.Y. Hilton over the middle. Colts inside the red zone as the 4th quarter opens.

3:16 p.m.: Colts get the ball back after Jaguars punt, and one wonders why Blake Bortles isn't targeting Jalil Brown's replacement at corner more:

3:06 p.m.: Colts knocked out of field goal range after Hasselbeck fumbles under pressure and Hugh Thornton recovers. But Pat McAfee pins the Jaguars deep with a great assist by Clayton Geathers, who saves the ball from going into the end zone. Jacksonville pinned at its own 1 yard line. A Jaguars player tried to grab the ball after Geathers saved it, then the Jacksonville player lost it and the Colts appeared to recover. But it appears that the officials ruled Jaguars ball at the 1 because the Colts touched it first.

3:02 p.m.: Frank Gore has more yards receiving than rushing, and it's moving the Colts on their first drive of the second half. And there's another penalty on Jacksonville. A big reason Indianapolis is in this one:

2:53 p.m.: Good penetration to get to Bortles by safety Clayton Geathers, forces Bortles to throw the ball away, and the Jags to punt.

2:51 p.m.: Jaguars on the move to open the second half; currently marching down the field at the Colts 46.

2:29 p.m.: HALFTIME -- JAGUARS 13, COLTS 10. Here are some photos from first-half action at Lucas Oil Stadium:

Halftime stats of note:

Penalties: Jacksonville really helping the Colts here, being penalized 6 times for 47 yards, most of those coming on the drive Indianapolis scored its lone touchdown on. The Colts have one penalty for 5 yards, a welcome figure given their penalty problems so far this season.

Passing yardage vs. rush yardage: The Colts could get absolutely nothing going on the ground. Frank Gore has carried the ball nine times for 6 yards. Hasselbeck has done a good job of not making big mistakes; no interceptions in that first half while going 12-of-21 for 110 yards (87.4 QB rating) and a touchdown to Coby Fleener.

Andre Johnson still MIA: The Colts' veteran free agent pickup was targeted just once, and couldn't make the catch. He continues to be a non-factor on this Colts offense.

Bortles having a day: Blake Bortles had a 126.6 QB rating in that first half, finishing 14-of-18 for 179 yards and a touchdown.

2:25 p.m.: Meanwhile, Jags trying to answer right back with a long drive of their own. Blake Bortles hits Allen Hurn again, this time for 19 yards and Jacksonville inside the red zone again.2:27 p.m.: Jason Myers hits on his second field goal of the day, a 33-yarder to give Jacksonville the lead again as the first half winds down. Jaguars 13, Colts 10. 0:04 2nd quarter.

2:23 p.m.: Was this supposed to be a "game manager" situation for Hasselbeck? No running game -- Hasselbeck has thrown for 112 yards and the Colts have 8 yards on the ground.

2:14 p.m.: Hasselbeck with a great sidearm pass while getting leveled, hits Coby Fleener in the end zone for a touchdown. Colts 10, Jaguars 10. 6:04 2nd quarter.

2:12 p.m.: 40+ yards on Jaguars penalties give the Colts a great shot here, down inside the Jaguars' 5 trying to tie things up.

2:09 p.m.: Frank Gore has seven carries for 6 yards so far.

2:09 p.m.:

2:06 p.m.: Boy, Colts just cannot catch a break on the injury front:

1:50 p.m.: Blake Borltes rolls out to the right and throws an 8-yard TD pass to Allen Hurns to put Jacksonville ahead. Jaguars 10, Colts 3. 11:37 2nd quarter.

1:47 p.m.: Running back Josh Robinson gets smashed, fumbles the football and Jacksonville takes over at the Colts' 44.

1:46 p.m.: Big Kendall Langford sack of Blake Bortles leads to a Jags punt; Colts with great field position at their own 48.

1:41 p.m.: Interesting stat so far given Hasselbeck start: Colts have passed 12 times, run 7. Total passing yards to this point: 73. Rush yards: 11.

1:39 p.m.: Hasselbeck tries for the home run down the sideline to T.Y. Hilton, and it goes just off a diving Hilton's fingertips. Colts punt. Hasselbeck is 7-for-12 for 73 yards so far.

1:34 p.m.: Update on Colts corner Jalil Brown:

1:33 p.m.: Jaguars tie it up on a 20-yard Jason Myers field goal. Colts 3, Jaguars 3. 2:49 1st quarter.

1:30 p.m.: Big pass play from Blake Bortles to Allen Robinson, 48 yards down to the Colts' 6.

1:28 p.m.: More history being made for a veteran Colt on that drive. Check out Zak Keefer's story on Hasselbeck and Vinatieri having such longevity in the league:

1:28 p.m.: Another Colt down, this time it's Jalil Brown.

1:26 p.m.: Matt Hasselbeck moving up the yardage chart on that drive, with a big name just ahead of him:

1:21 p.m.: Adam Vinatieri knocks it through from 54 yards to put the Colts ahead. Colts 3, Jaguars 0. 4:59 1st quarter.

1:20 p.m.: It's the Jaguars, yes, but Colts moving the football rather well on offense behind Hasselbeck. Offensive penalties continue to hurt, though. Colts down to the Jacksonville 35, looking to strike first in this one.

1:16 p.m.: Update on linebacker Jerrell Freeman:

1:14 p.m.: Hasselbeck's first completion comes on a 15-yard pass over the middle to Coby Fleener on the Colts' second drive. Then another nice pass to Donte Moncrief on third down to pick up a first down.

1:10 p.m.: Colts force a Jaguars punt -- Griff Whalen calls for a fair catch at the 8 yard line.

1:08 p.m.: Linebacker Jerrell Freeman was down on a play, walks to sideline. Will have to keep an eye on him; Colts can't afford another defensive injury.

1:05 p.m.: Colts go 3-and-out after a Hasselbeck pass is dropped by tight end Coby Fleener.

1:03 p.m.: First pass as a Colts starting QB from Hasselbeck is a pass thrown slightly behind Frank Gore, which was incomplete.

1:02 p.m.: The Jaguars win the toss, and have elected to defer. The Colts will take the ball first and Matt Hasselbeck will be out there right away to lead Indy's offense.

For the first time in his NFL career, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will miss a game. Luck is inactive as the Colts take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Lucas Oil Stadium due to a sore shoulder he injured in last Sunday's win at Tennessee. Backup Matt Hasselbeck will make his first start since 2012, and at 40 years old, he'll be the oldest quarterback to start a game since Brett Favre in 2010.

With Colts quarterback Andrew Luck in limbo, could Matt Hasselbeck fill the void?

The Colts will be trying to even their record on the young season at 2-2 before heading to Houston for a short-week contest Thursday night against the Texans. But they continue to be shorthanded, even beyond Luck -- tight end Dwayne Allen, cornerback Greg Toler, running back Tyler Varga, defensive tackle T.Y. McGill, and offensive linemen Todd Herremans and Denzelle Good are also inactive Sunday.
