Don’t pay tribute to man who shot police

What has happened to our sense of right and wrong? The story on the SWAT team raid and the shooting death of Andrew Sizemore, the person suspected of drug dealing and shooting four policemen, is terribly sad. However, the tribute shrine created by Sizemore’s friends is extremely troubling. Signs that said “There was no reason for him to die” and “R.I.P. Drew, We love and miss you” speak to a distorted sense of right and wrong. Is it right to sell illegal drugs to people who become addicted and ruin their lives? Is it right to have guns blazing as police attempt to enter the home where heroin, hundreds of prescription pills, 13 guns and more than $120,000 were found? The tragedy is Sizemore’s decision to take the wrong path in life and the ruined lives of his customers. A tribute seems very inappropriate.
