Mother Nature spent the last several days rinsing; now she's returned to dusting.

Colder air and snow showers as Wednesday begins, with most of the next 10 days remaining below freezing. A trough of low pressure sinks into the state from above today, helping to keep clouds and snow showers around through the morning. There should be some sunshine this afternoon, especially from Indianapolis westward toward Terre Haute and Lafayette. You may need more patience in Muncie and Richmond. Temperatures will spend the day in the low to mid 20s, with chills running from about 10 to 15 above.

We have two more good chances for snow, and both could go beyond a dusting, although neither look heavy. Snow on Thursday in the afternoon and evening could produce around an inch all across central Indiana. Snow on Friday shouldn't get beyond flurries or snow showers, but the fast flow above us reloads for Saturday, when a 1- or 2-inch snowfall is possible.

Seven-day forecast

Some temperature recovery can be expected Sunday and Monday before a fresh shot of cold air and more not heavy, just pesky snow chances next week.
