Pike High School junior Tahjai Teague (32) reacts after being called for a foul during the first half of Regional Championship action March 15, 2014, at Southport High School.

The Adidas Gauntlet brought some of the top high school basketball talent in the country to Fishers Fieldhouse this weekend. I caught up with Tahjai Teague, a 6-8 senior-to-be at Pike who is playing with the Eric Gordon All-Stars. The 6-7 Teague came on strong on the second half of the season for Pike and finished his junior season with a 11.2-point scoring average, 8.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game. Programs from the Mid-American Conference, Missouri Valley and even the Big Ten have been showing interest in Teague, who was selected for the NBA Top 100 camp in Virginia this June.

Here's a quick Q&A with Teague:

What kind of honor was it to get invited to the Top 100?

"It was a little surprising but it was an honor to be recognized. I'm trying to learn more about the camp. I just want to keep playing to my strengths when I get there and try to get better. It should be a nice camp."

Do you thinking playing in a prestigious camp like that can help your recruitment as far as getting your name out there?

"I'm just trying to play as hard as I can and hopefully it will come to me."

What is the latest on your recruitment?

"I picked up an offer from Western Illinois since coach (Billy) Wright moved over there. He really likes me a lot. We communicate a lot. San Jose State has been talking to me, as well as Indiana State. Coach (James) Whitford at Ball State still talks to me a lot. Ball State and Western Illinois are my offers right now."

What are you trying to prove this summer?

"Driving more, finishing at the basket and getting stronger (Teague was a 39 percent 3-point shooter as a junior, hitting 27-for-69). I'm just trying to get better and keep our team winning."

Teague averaged 14.4 points and 7.8 rebounds to help EG10 to a 5-0 record this weekend.

*Another EG10 player, Columbus North senior Elliot Welmer, hasn't yet solidified his prep school plans. The 6-8 Welmer will attend prep school for a year and then plans to enroll at Saint Louis.
