We don't want to write one more of these headlines: violent crimes on the rise, another shooting, officer dead.

Conversations around the city are all the same. Crime is bad in Indianapolis. Really, really bad. Residents are fearful, frustrated and looking for answers.

It's a devastating time for Indianapolis -- our home.

We want to change the conversation. We want to show you headlines, images, and stories that inspire good.

We know good still exists. Good still will exist. And we're going to find it, and hope it inspires others to do the same. The city needs it.

We want the stories that bring people hope. This doesn't mean we'll close our eyes to violence, but instead we want to open eyes to the solutions.

  • Do you know someone making a difference in the community?
  • Is there an organization or group that is working to put an end to violence?
  • How can Hoosiers help?

We're talking everything from grassroots efforts to major campaigns. There's nothing too small -- you might have a little extra money and a little extra time. Is there something we can do with either that money or time to make a difference?
