Hackers put profane messages on INDOT signboards on Ind. 37 near Martinsville.

Drivers on Ind. 37 were greeted with a not-so-cheery signs Friday morning as they passed by Martinsville.

Two signs, loaded with "f-bombs" appeared on the stretch of Ind. 37 between Ohio Road and Turkey Track Road in Martinsville. The first read "Merry F---ing New Year," just in time for the holiday season.

The other was a little less festive, reading" Slow the F---- Down."

The signs were hacked by an unknown suspect, a call center employee said. The INDOT emergency call center received reports from several area police agencies early today before it was shut down.

It's certainly not the first time a roadway sign has been altered. One hack in Austin, Texas made national headlines when a sign was changed to read" Zombies Ahead," according to Fox News.

One of the more recent incidents was in May, when a sign in San Francisco warned drivers of a Godzilla attack.

More details on the Ind. 37 incident were not available at this time.
