The Boone County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of a woman being pulled over Monday morning by a man posing as a police officer.

Deputies received a complaint about 5 a.m. from a woman who said she was stopped in the area of Ind. 75 and County Road 400 South, according to a news release.

The woman told investigators that a dark colored Ford Crown Victoria with a red and blue dash light stopped her for speeding, police said.

She stated that when the man driving the car approached her, he told her that she needed to come back to his vehicle. At that point, the woman asked for another officer to be called to the scene, police said.

The man driving the Crown Victoria responded by going back to his car and driving away, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the Boone County Sheriff's Office at (765) 482-1412.
