Injured Indiana Pacers forward Paul George may not be as mobile as he used to be (yanno, broken leg and all) but that hasn't stopped him from tossing to and fro in the news cycle.

On the same day when a New York tabloid published an update on George's paternity lawsuit, branding him as a "deadbeat dad," NBA TV featured George in a more favorable light with a one-on-one interview with Pacers legend Reggie Miller.

In the world of Paul George, flashy All-Star and celebrity endorser, we like to call days like this, "Tuesdays."

Even so, there were a few interesting points from George and Miller's conversation. With training camp around the corner, reality is beginning to hit George. Though he suffered the broken leg during an early August exhibition game with USA Basketball, George reports that he feels fine physically but will miss being an active member of the Pacers.

"I'm feeling good. You know, this is probably still a tough time just because all the guys that are starting to show up at this point in the season," George said in the interview. "For the most part, were looking forward to this year to play alongside with me. And to not be out there with those guys, it's a reality check at this point."

Other highlights include:

  • George remembers trying to look down immediately after feeling the "fire" on his leg: "I tried to get up almost like in a sit-up position to look at my leg, and (the Oklahoma City Thunder trainer) pushed me back down and told me, 'Everything's going to be okay. Don't look at it. You broke your leg, but you're going to get through it. Just stay strong.'"
  • George has tremendous confidence in C Roy Hibbert stepping up without him this season: "He has a chance to cement being one of the best bigs to play this game. Offensively, he's skilled. Everybody knows he's skilled, he's just gotta be, ya know, aggressive and defensively, he's probably one of the best to ever do it."
  • George on another one of his "Tuesday" moments; his ill-advised tweets about the Ray Rice situation: "I was just trying to support the Rice family. It didn't come out the way I wanted it to come out. The reason is why the whole 140 characters is tough. But that was a learning lesson."

Miller also spoke with team president Larry Bird, who echoed his sentiments from earlier this summer that he would like to see George one day return to USA Basketball.

"I hope so. That's one of his goals," Bird said. "He wants to play for Team USA. I think that any kid that gets the opportunity to do that and they want to play for their country, they should have that opportunity. And I think Paul will be there in Brazil (Olympics)."
