The dog days of summer are over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring man’s best friend with you to Clay Terrace’s celebration of dogs Saturday.

Don’t have a furry friend to bring along? That’s OK. The event will include vendors with information about adoption in celebration of National Adopt-A-Dog month, as well as local businesses that specialize in taking care of your pet.

Here are four ways to pamper your pet at Clay Terrace’s Adopt-A-Dog event.

Organic baked goods

Made from fresh ingredients, chews and treats from Pet Lovers Organic Bakery are made in Westfield and sold at pet shops throughout the area. Your dog could like elk antler chews, green bean treats or peanut butter barky bars (pun definitely intended).

Delivery food

A far cry from the pizza and Chinese food staples of human food delivery, Grateful Pet will drop off wet and dry food, treats, toys and whatever else you need for your dog or cat anywhere in the Indianapolis area. The store has popular brands and organic options.

Dog hotel

Happy Dog Hotel and Spa at Third Street and Monon Trail in Carmel looks as nice as it sounds. It offers grooming, including massages and facials, as well as lots of space for day boarding.

Halloween costume

Dressing up as Luke Skywalker this Halloween? Your dog can be Darth Vader. And together, you could have one entertaining light saber battle. Moochie and Co. offers costumes, toys and clothes (including a Colts cheerleader outfit).

If you’re looking for a dog to join your family, Prison Greyhounds and Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue will be there with information about adopting.
