Celebrity chefs Vic "Vegas" Moea and Malcolm Mitchell, along with Indy's own Butcher Babe Loreal Gavin, are in the lineup for Rev, a huge food event May 2 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

They'll be joined by 53 Indy area chefs, each cook paired with an IndyCar driver to produce tastings Rev describes as "driver-inspired cuisine."

Moea is a self-trained chef and restaurant owner who appeared on "Bar Rescue" and Food Nework's "Chopped" and "Food Network Challenge Big Bash Catering Competition."

Mitchell was a finalist on Season 8 of the Food Network show "Food Network Star." He works with first lady Michelle Obama's "Lets Move!" campaign to fight childhood obesity. Mitchell launched Brain Food, a school lunch program that provides healthy meals to kids. He also hosts the Radio One WOL 1450 show "Choppin' It Up with The Chef."

Mitchell replaces Washington, D.C., chef and restaurateur Spike Mendelsohn, who will not be able to attend Rev.

Gavin in 2014 was a standout on Food Network's "Food Network Star." She didn't win the contest, but she coined the nickname Butcher Babe, garnering a national fan base.

At Rev, Moea is matched with Canadian driver James Hinchcliffe. Moea will serve a scarlet baby kale salad with Carolina country ribs and blue cheese slaw. Other chefs filling the roster are award-winning Chris Eley of Goose the Market; 2014 James Beard Award semifinalist Neal Brown of The Libertine Liquor Bar; Abbi Merriss of 2013 James Beard Award Best New Restaurant semifinalist Bluebeard; Carl Chambers of Mesh on Mass and Craig Baker of Plow & Anchor.

Brown, paired with driver Scott Dixon, will serve a fried oyster sandwich with foie gras compound butter, pickles and herb slaw. Chambers, inspired by driver Sebastian Saavedra, is making pork confit arepas with salsa verde, grape tomato salad and chicharron. Chef Braedon Kellner, of popular new Tinker Street restaurant, is paired with driver Helio Castroneves. Kellner plans pulled chicken sliders with blueberry barbecue sauce and local arugula

A couple thousand people are expected to attend Rev. The evening includes dancing on the track near the pagoda, where winners cross the finish line. That stretch of Indianapolis Motor Speedway straightaway will host a club scene, with DJ Lockstar.

Rev, presented by Fifth Third Bank, is a Methodist Health Foundation charity event. Proceeds benefit Indiana University Health statewide trauma programs including medical services for drivers and patrons at the IU Health Emergency Medical Center of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
