1. Oops! The House budget cuts IPS by $14 million more than expected.

Lawmakers relied on outdated information on how many students receive free school lunches to create the budget. And that could have big consequences for several urban districts.

Court documents say Matthew Carrington, 36, started sending inappropriate texts to a 16-year-old student. Things allegedly escalated from there.

A new boutique hotel will be built on the parking lot of old City Hall. The old City Hall will serve as the hotel's lobby and an art gallery. The hotel will be eight to ten stories and have 150 rooms.

After a lab mixup, Detective Sgt. William Carter took to social media to raise money to re-test DNA in the rape and murder of 19-year-old Carmen Hope Van Huss.
