IndyCar’s weekend at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway was already expected to be emotional given the approaching one-year anniversary of Justin Wilson’s passing. The honoring of Bryan Clauson by his most-recent IndyCar Series team adds to that.

Dale Coyne Racing announced Tuesday that Conor Daly and Pippa Mann will drive in Clauson’s honor in this weekend’s ABC Supply 500. Both cars will carry Clauson decals, including some that reference his goal of competing in 200 races this year.

Clauson died of injuries suffered in a USAC midget race accident Aug. 6 in Belleville, Kan. He drove Coyne’s No. 88 car in this year’s Indianapolis 500; that car number will be used by Daly instead of the team’s usual No. 18.

Clauson, Daly, Mann and Gabby Chaves were teammates in this year’s Indianapolis 500. As Clauson did, Daly considers Noblesville, Ind., home.

Mann will drive Coyne’s No. 19 car, becoming the fourth driver this season to do so. The others were Luca Filippi (five races), Chaves (six) and rookie RC Enerson (one).

Wilson was struck by debris in Sage Karam’s Turn 2 crash in last year’s Pocono race, and he died the next day.

Practice and qualifying at the 2.5-mile oval is Saturday. The race is 3 p.m. Sunday (NBCSN).
