Heat-related safety concerns have prompted the Carmel City Center to cancel tonight's free community concert.
The concert featuring Dave and Whitney was scheduled for 5 to 6:30 p.m. on the center's outdoor sidewalk.
"The safety of our patrons and performers is of the utmost importance," the center said in a news release.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for central Indiana until 8 p.m. Saturday. With a temperature expected to reach the 90s, extremely high humidity will make it feel like 105-110.
Carmel City Center has not yet released information about a possible reschedule date.
