Plastic bags with rocks and a letter urging people to join the KKK were found on some Fishers lawns.

Some Fishers residents found plastic bags outside of their homes on Sunday morning containing a piece of paper with anti-immigrant words and a message promoting the Ku Klux Klan, Fishers police said.

Ross Olsby, 55, received a text message from one of his neighbors around 7:30 a.m., asking if he had received something from the Ku Klux Klan. When Olsby went outside his home in eastern Fishers, he found a note in a bag, weighted down with a rock.

The letter began with, "What will you tell your children?" and criticized illegal immigrants and the LGBTQ community, saying "Hell, there (sic) everywhere!"

The letter called for white Americans to "Wake up," prompting them to join the United Northern & Southern Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

A portion of the letter received by some Fishers residents, urging them to join the Ku Klux Klan.

Olsby went around and picked up about 200 bags with letters, so that his neighbor's children wouldn't see the literature.

"You think we made a lot of progress in the last 80 years, and I guess we have, but boy it's 2016 and we still have work to do I guess," Olsby said.

Fishers Officer Tom Weger said the letters appeared to have been randomly dispersed overnight, and not in any specific neighborhoods.

Police received multiple calls about the bags, however, they aren't looking into the situation. No crime has been committed, Weger said.

"There's nothing we can do about it except be aware about it," Weger said. "This is a great opportunity to remind people to continue to call us and report suspicious activity."
