A 30-year-old Indianapolis man died early Saturday morning, police said, when he walked into the path of a semitrailer truck on the interstate  near Castleton.

Duane Costelow II was struck and killed at about 3 a.m. on I-69, near the 82nd Street exit, according to a news release from the Indiana State Police.

A preliminary investigation showed Costelow was walking in the right lane, when he walked into the path of a northbound 2011 International semi driven by Kyle Albertson, 29, of Plainfield.

Police are still trying to determine why Costelow walked into the roadway because there were no disabled vehicles nearby.

Albertson is cooperating with police and was not injured.

A section of the northbound lanes of I-69, north of I-465, were closed for about two hours while the crash was being investigated.

Any witnesses to the accident are being asked to call police.
