A bicycle rider died after he was struck by two vehicles while crossing a busy highway in Fishers late Tuesday, police said.

Elias Rios Bonilla, 26, Fishers, was traveling west on 126th Street and crossing Ind. 37 against a red light when he was hit first by a Chevrolet Tahoe and then by a Honda Accord about 11 p.m., Fishers Police Capt. Gerry Hepp said.

Bonilla died at the scene, Hepp said. The drivers of both vehicles were at the scene when officers arrived.

The Fishers Police Crash Investigation Team was called to investigate. Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be a factor in the crash, Hepp said.
