A flash mob of more than 100 bike riders from 35 different Indianapolis companies came together on Monument Circle to drop off nonperishable items for the Midwest Food Bank to promote Indy Do Day in 2014.

Just hours after news broke Monday that many of Indy Do Day’s promotional materials were stolen along with a volunteer's vehicle over the weekend, AT&T Indiana stepped up to help.

Rotary Club of Indianapolis, the organization behind Indy Do Day, said Tuesday that AT&T will cover any costs needed to replace the materials that had been used to encourage participation in the upcoming three-day community volunteering event.

“AT&T’s commitment gives us peace of mind so that we can rush-order new materials without waiting for insurance to process,” said Lisa Treadwell, co-chair of Indy Do Day,

Banners, tablecloths, displays and Frisbees were among the items stolen after a weekend signup event at the Feast of Lanterns. The materials, which were worth about $1,000, included the Indy Do Day logo promoting the initiative, scheduled for Sept. 29, 30 and Oct. 1.

AT&T Indiana will be participating in this year’s Indy Do Day on Sept. 29 by sorting food donations and filling “back sacks” for hungry students at Gleaners Food Bank.

“The Rotary and Indy Do Day have done such tremendous work for our community, so helping them out was a no-brainer,” said AT&T Indiana President Bill Soards. “We hope that our support will enable them to continue to get the word out about how to get involved in Indy Do Day and further draw attention to their great work.”
