The Indiana Department of Transportation will begin working Monday on bridges along I-65 just north of Downtown Indianapolis that could result in up to 20 overnight lane closures.

The project will affect bridges from Senate Avenue to Alabama Street.

Proshot Concrete has been awarded a $4.6 million contract to repair concrete and seal joints, work that will prevent moisture from seeping into the bridges.

INDOT projects the northbound I-65 Exit 113 ramps to and from Meridian and Pennsylvania streets will close from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday.

All lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to  6 a.m. on Oct. 5 and 6. Nightly closures on northbound I-65 are projected from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Oct. 10 to 14.

On those dates, the Exit 113 ramps to and from Meridian and Pennsylvania streets will be open while northbound I-65 is closed. Additionally, during the overnight work, the I-65 Exit 114 ramp to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street and West Street will close. The Pine Street entrance ramp to northbound I-65 also will be shut.

The specifics of the southbound I-65 closures will be announced during the coming weeks.

INDOT said the Exit 113 ramps to and from Meridian Street will be closed  from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights while the southbound work is completed.

Only one lane of southbound I-65 will be open from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights.

While the overnight work is completed, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street and West Street entrance ramp to southbound I-65 will be closed.
