Video recuts 'Titanic' as a John Green movie and it's perfect

At its heart, "Titanic" is a film about star-crossed teens who just happen to be on a super unlucky boat. And, as YouTuber ElleOfTheMills says, it's a bit of a downer.

John Green greets fans.

So … what if it was styled like a John Green young adults novel adaptation instead? (Admittedly, those are often also a bit of a towner. But with peppy soundtracks!)

The result is a movie we would definitely see. It turns out that if you add an indie pop song and show only the moments of romance and/or teenagers feeling disaffected, it pretty perfectly mirrors one of Indy-based Green's movie adaptations, like "The Fault in Our Stars" or "Paper Towns."

Green himself gave the trailer the stamp of approval.
