Verizon IndyCar Series driver James Hinchcliffe will dance at least another week on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

This year’s Indianapolis 500 pole winner outscored Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte 29-25 in a head-to-head competition Monday night to earn enough judges points to move to Week 4 of the two-month competition.

At the time of his cha-cha, Hinchcliffe had the night’s highest score but fell to fourth overall (out of 12) as the scores rose through the show. It didn’t matter, though; Hinchcliffe only needed to beat Lochte.

Hinchcliffe is the second IndyCar driver to appear on the show, following Helio Castroneves, who won the celebrity dance contest in 2007.

Indianapolis native Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds did not earn an automatic advancement to next week; he will be up for elimination Tuesday night. He lost to singer Jana Kramer, 26-25.
