A Brownsburg teen accused of trying to leave the country to join the Islamic State entered a plea in court Friday after being indicted on terror charges.

Akram Musleh plead not guilty to charges of attempting to provide material support or resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization on Friday, according to Tim Horty, a spokesman for the U.S. District Attorney's office.

Musleh was stopped at the Greyhound Station in Downtown Indianapolis in June as he attempted to depart by bus for New York, where he had purchased a ticket from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Morocco before traveling to ISIS-controlled territory.

He remains in federal custody.
