Crews with the cable-television show "Hoarders" spent several days cleaning house in a Franklin neighborhood this past week.

Workers spent at least a day removing trash from a home while cameras rolled in the Oak Leaf Manor subdivision. The crews arrived on Sept. 19, according to The Daily Journal.

In addition to a mountain of trash, police reported that "wild ferrets" were in the home.

“The property had been in a state of decline for several years,” neighbor Bill Oakes told the Daily Journal. "You were obviously worried about the property and the property owners who were there."

Parking became a minor issue during the filming, Franklin Police Deputy Chief Chris Tennell said.

An officer, according to a police report, was called to the neighborhood shortly before noon Thursday on reports of parking violations.

The officer spoke with producers and the cars were moved, the report said. The officer also noted a possible health concern: "wild ferrets fleeing from the scene."

The officer observed no animal activity, but called Johnson County Animal Control and local public health officials.

Screaming Flea Productions, the show's producer, did not immediately respond to an email.

"Hoarders," which airs on A&E, and its spinoff, "Hoarders: Family Secrets," which airs on Lifetime, are one-hour documentary programs that focus on families that struggle with compulsive hoarding.
