INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts won't be back at Anderson University for training camp this summer.

After holding training camp in Anderson the past seven seasons, the Colts are looking for a new home, a source confirmed to IndyStar on Monday night. The team is weighing its options, including a possible move to DePauw University in Greencastle.

Said a DePauw spokesperson: "We'd love to be affiliated with the Colts."

The Colts haven’t ruled out having training camp at their Indianapolis training facility, but that decision would come with many challenges, particularly accommodating fans.

The Colts have held training camp at Anderson University since 2010, operating on a year-to-year contract. DePauw did not respond to a request for comment.

Many considerations go into deciding on a training camp site, primarily the facilities. The Colts currently use Anderson University’s athletic facilities and dorm rooms to house players and staff during camp. Thousands of fans come out each July and August to watch the team prepare for the upcoming season.

Before moving training to Anderson, the Colts had training camp at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute for 11 years. The team held training camp in Anderson immediately after moving to Indianapolis in 1984, remaining there until 1998.
