Eli Lilly made the list.

Three Indiana-based companies are among the most-admired in the world, according to Fortune magazine's annual list.

Cummins, based in Columbus, Ind., landed at No. 2 on the most-admired construction and farm machinery companies. That's up a spot from 2016. Eli Lilly was up two spots in the pharmaceutical category, moving from 10th to 8th. And Simon Property Group remained in the No. 1 spot for real estate companies.

No Indiana companies made the list of top 50 "All Stars" that looked at companies across industries. Here are the most admired of the most admired:

  1. Apple
  2. Amazon.com
  3. Starbucks
  4. Berkshire Hathaway
  5. Disney
  6. Alphabet (Google)
  7. General Electric
  8. Southwest Airlines
  9. Facebook
  10. Microsoft

The list was chosen from 680 of the highest-revenue companies in the world. Executives who worked at those companies were surveyed on their own industry category. They were asked to rank companies on nine criteria. That's how industry categories were determined. The All-Star list was chosen by asking executives across industries to rank their 10 most-admired companies.
