No tacos for you, unless you possess tickets.

Tickets for the June 24 Indy Taco fest at Pan Am Plaza were gone within one hour this morning.

This is a city full of tacos. You will be all right.

EARLIER: You’ll be toasting more than tequila on National Margarita Day this week. That’s the day tickets to Indy’s taco festival go on sale.

A ticket sales link for the Tacos, Tequila and Margaritas Festival will pop up at 10 a.m. Feb. 22 at tacosandtequilaindy.com, organizers announced. They’ve also set a date for the festival, 6 to 10 p.m. June 24 at Pan American Pavilion in Downtown Indianapolis, the venue’s marketing specialist Cebronica Scott said.

General admission tickets cost $25 and get you three full-size tacos, 4 to 6 inches long, and three 4-ounce margaritas. A $35 VIP ticket puts you inside at 5 p.m. for five tacos and five margaritas. Tequila flights will be available for purchase at the bar.

Expect 30 restaurants serving tacos at the indoor/outdoor festival that will spill from inside the pavilion onto the outdoor Pan Am plaza. Already thinking about the hundreds of tacos you can eat? Enter the festival’s taco-eating contest.

Oh, and you'll be able to vote for your favorite taco and margarita. Live music and giveaways are also on the agenda.

Organizers at Pan Am Pavilion continue booking restaurants and cocktail specialists for the event. A list of participants will be added to the festival’s website soon, Scott said.

If you’re interested in the festival, don’t delay buying a ticket. Tickets to a January macaroni and cheese festival at the pavilion sold out in less than an hour both times they went on sale. Three thousand people attended.

Tacos are about as popular as macaroni and cheese. In mid-2015, Eater.com predicted tacos would eventually replace hamburgers as America's most ubiquitous dish. In January, the Washington Post reported that burger chain Jack in the Box sells 554 million tacos each year even though people say they don’t like the fast-food restaurant's tacos.
