Chuck Weyant was oldest living Indy 500 driver

Chuck Weyant, a former Indy 500 driver, died Jan. 23 at his home in Springfield, Ill. at the age of 93. He had been the oldest living Indy 500 starter.

Weyant, a four-time starter, made his first and most successful appearance in 1955. He finished 12th in the Federal Engineering Special and finished 14th in 1957, and crashed in the 1958 and 1959 races. Through 1962, he failed to qualify.

Weyant won the 1955 Hut Hundred midget race at the Terre Haute Action Track. Weyant was inducted into the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2003.
