8 St. Patrick’s Day parties for grown-ups

Two words: green beer. These can't-miss St. Patrick's Day parties and pub crawls are best for those 21 and older, and with March 17 falling on a Friday, the whole weekend will be filled with green.

We'll know if you've had too much by that green on your tongue, so don't drink and drive.

Main Street Speedway’s St. Pats Pub Crawl

8 p.m. March 11, Main Street, Speedway, free, speedwaychamber.com.

Get a head start on St. Patrick’s Day fun. Find drink and dinner specials at six Main Street bars and restaurants. 1911 Grill will host a tent party with live music from The Flying Toasters.

St. Patrick’s Day Tent Party at the Brockway

March 17-18, the Brockway Public House, free entry, facebook.com/thebrockwaypub.

Every St. Patrick’s Day, the Dublin-inspired pub hosts one of the biggest parties on the north side. Admission is free, but a $2 wristband will get you some extra swag and a chance for cool prizes. Proceeds go to the Carmel Fire Department. Activities include mornin’ Kegs and Eggs, bagpipers, a keg toss and live bands. There will be drink specials from Jameson and perfectly poured pints of Guinness. Chow down on fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage, and sheperd’s pie.

Blarney Bash

11 a.m. March 17, east block of Georgia Street, $7 per person or $25 for four, q95.iheart.com.

Head for Downtown’s party thoroughfare for food, live music from The Late Show, The Doo and My Yellow Rickshaw and, of course, green Coors Lights.

Saint Patty’s Day March Madness Bar Crawl

4 p.m. March 17, The Pavilion at Pan Am, 201 S. Capitol Ave., $25, 317events.com.

Don’t pay covers and hit all the bars — Tiki Bob’s, Taps & Dolls, Cadillac Ranch, Social, Blu and Titled Kilt Pub. Registration begins at 3 p.m. and cost includes three drink tickets. An afterparty at The Pavilion will have live music, basketball and giveaways.

St. Patrick’s Day Block Party

10 a.m. March 17, Vermont Street between Pennsylvania and Meridian streets, free, indystpats.com.

After the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, head for the beer garden at the center of the route. The Hoosier Lottery Imagine That Stage will host Irish entertainment.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration with Mo’s Irish Pub

St. Patrick’s Day in the Barn

Noon March 17, Barn at Bay Horse Inn, 1468 W. Stones Crossing Road, Greenwood, $10, barnatbayhorse.com.

The newish event venue on the south side is getting in on the St. Patrick’s Day action. All-day festivities include live music by Neon Cowboys and food trucks.

Firkin St. Patrick’s Day at FDR

March 17-18, Four Day Ray Brewing, 11671 Lantern Road, Fishers, $10 cover, facebook.com/fourdayray.

This two-day tent and patio party will feature the tapping of the brewery’s Irish Red, plus tappings of firkins (small casks) from other Indiana breweries. There will be live music both days, drink specials and a special all-Irish menu inside the restaurant.
