The Indianapolis Cultural Trail, this segment is along Virginia Ave heading in Fountain Square.

It's no surprise for those of us who live, work or spend our free time Downtown, but Indy's city center has been hailed by Realtor.com as one of the most resurgent in the country. The Circle City came in No. 2 on their list, just behind Pittsburgh.

The list looked at a variety of factors to see if downtowns are growing, including residential growth since 2012, restaurant and grocery store growth, jobs per capita and growth, home price appreciation, how much more expensive it is to buy downtown versus other parts of the city and more.

Indy's second-place showing out of the 200 cities examined is thanks in part to the walkability of our Downtown. It's just the latest list to praise the Cultural Trail. The list also gave praise to the Canal: "Crystalline waterways in the summer are filled with paddle boats and gondolas imported from Venice. On the banks, free morning yoga sessions are held weekly in the summer, a perfect way for city dwellers to work off a mid-week slump."
