Former Brownsburg and Butler star Gordon Hayward suffered a nasty ankle injury just minutes into his debut with the Boston Celtics.

With six minutes left in the first quarter, Hayward rose up to tip in a pass and fell awkwardly and snapping his ankle backwarrd. Players from both teams immediately reacted as Hayward was tended to on the court. The reaction on the court from the teams was swift as well as the reaction on Twitter as tweets flooded in wishing Hayward a speedy recovery.

A few of the many tweets to come in support of Hayward came from former Pacers star Paul George. George broke his leg three years ago in a scrimmage for the United States national team and missed a majority of the season.

George wasn't alone in wishing Hayward a quick recovery. While many players from around the league tweeted out prayers for Hayward, including Pacers' players Myles Turner and Victor Oladipo, the injury hit the sports world as a whole. First-year Butler head coach LaVall Jordan, Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt both sent out tweets praying for Hayward and wishing him a fast recovery.
