Indianapolis weather: Cloudy, colder temps and windy, says Paul Poteet

There's no place to go but down. One cold front has already cleared the state and another one rolls through tomorrow morning. Temps start Friday morning in the upper 40s to around 50 and will fall to the low to middle 40s by the afternoon rush hours. Winds will also pick up, so the feels-like temperature will fall under freezing after lunch.

The best chances of showers and/or drizzle will be in the morning, and that will diminish this afternoon. That may be it for central Indiana precipitation through next week. We could inherit a few flurries from northern Indiana snow showers Saturday, but there won't be any accumulation. It will be brighter tomorrow, but the winds will be gusting to 30mph in the midday and afternoon. That means most of Saturday will have chills in the teens.

The sky is clear and the temps at their coldest Saturday night and Sunday. Highs will only be in the 20s Sunday, but it won't be as windy. One more weak system could bring more clouds Monday, but then it turns quiet through the holiday. A big storm system will start in the southeast USA Tuesday and move up the Atlantic Coast Wednesday, exiting by Thursday. There could be some Lake Michigan snow showers Wednesday, but otherwise it's looking good - and cold - for the Thanksgiving trip.
