Forward Rasual Butler will have his contract guaranteed by the Indiana Pacers, barring an unforeseen event, The Indianapolis Star learned.

According to league sources, in the case of an unlikely trade, Butler will remain with the team. The Pacers are not involved in trade talks, and the deadline for non-guaranteed contracts to become guaranteed for the rest of the season is 5 p.m. EST Tuesday.

Butler signed with the team in September and made the roster out of training camp to increase the Pacers’ count to 14 players. After his contract becomes guaranteed, Butler will make the NBA veteran’s minimum of a little more than $1.3 million.
